In 1983 the Robertson family purchased the site & built the chaffing side into the business. Peter Robertson's passion for producing high quality lucerne saw Peter invest in chaffing machinery to produce lucerne chaff of the highest quality. The business is still family owned and is now operated by his son, Michael. Katunga Lucerne Mill continues to produce high quality lucerne chaff.
The site which Katunga Lucerne Mill is on was built back in the late 1940's. It was a prime lucerne mealing mill. It was owned by Barastoc. In 1983 the Robertson family purchased the site & built the chaffing side into the business. Peter Robertson had a passion for farming but his main interest was producing high quality lucerne. This passion for lucerne saw Peter Robertson invest in chaffing machinery to produce quality lucerne chaff.
Today Katunga Lucerne Mill is still producing high quality lucerne chaff. The business is still family owned and is now operated by his son Michael Robertson. Michael like Peter also has a passion for high quality lucerne chaff. Michael followed on with high standards that his father started with many years before.
